The only eclectic guest house in the heart of Bologna

In 1948 Pietro and Antonietta Bertagni, a cosmopolitan Bolognese couple, set out to realize their dream: to build a family home where they could live surrounded by friends and stimulating company. They wanted a hospitable, distinguished residence, with a garden reminiscent of the peaceful yet industrious farmsteads of the Emilia region, while also reverberating with the stimuli of the contemporary world.

The glow of worldliness and intellect had faded somewhat when Guido Carlo Vincenzi, the youngest of the Bertagni family tree, arrived in the 1990s. Driven by a desire to restore lustre to the family home, he created a different kaleidoscopic world in each of the luxurious rooms, stimulating the mind and curiosity of all who lodge there.

Casa Bertagni is a refined and refreshing exemplar of the new concept of hospitality in Bologna: a small cosmos to be discovered, a series of unusual vantage points for visitors to the city, a place of well-being for all open and curious spirits. Here one can savour the art de vivre, a taste of the pleasure of life the Italian way. Time is suspended in a dimension that pays due homage to the past, allowing guests to contemplate customs and rituals that are now lost.

Located in the heart of Bologna, Casa Bertagni is ten minutes from the Bologna expo center and just a short walk from Piazza Maggiore and the Basilica of San Petronio, the two Towers, the City Theatre and the Pinacoteca Nazionale. It is an excellent starting point to reach the city’s most famous restaurants, most beautiful shops, and most renowned nightclubs.

Guido Carlo Vincenzi

Architect and up and coming designer, Guido Carlo is the youngest descendant of the Bertagni family. His passion for tradition is joined with his thirst for the most innovative ventures in contemporary architecture and design, which he synthesizes in his hospitality projects.
